Einstein-Rosen bridge
Einstein Rosen bridge is a consequence of Einstein's theory of relativity. It
states the possibility of small wormholes in the space, or "spacetime"
more accurately. The bridge or tunnel so created will act as a tunnel
that can allow us to travel in space and time to another corner of
universe. Basically the bridge or tunnel formed bends space and time.
Think of a paper with points on its extremities, now fold the paper as
the two points as conciding, so in place of going from one point to
another, you can directly go through the paper at the point where the
two points concide, hence cutting down the travel distance by a very
large amount. Now just think of the paper as the universe and the two
points as two galaxies trillions millions of light years away, instead
of covering all the time that would take billions of years, we can
straightaway go there through the wormhole. Actually the wormholes or
"Einstein-Rosen Bridges" are very very small and are present of very
small amount of a second. We cannot presently use these wormholes for
our advantage, but the one thing that can stabilize these small
wormholes is negative matter or exotic matter, which is theoretically
possible.
